Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers, INC. wins 163,000-SF Corporate Interiors Project on behalf of Oticon

LIVINGSTON, N.J. (December 13, 2010)—Oticon, a leading hearing instrument manufacturer, has appointed Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc. to design the interior renovation at its recently acquired U.S. Headquarters space at 580 Howard Avenue in Somerset, New Jersey. The project team also includes Turner Construction, who is providing construction management services, and Strunck-Albert Engineering, who is providing engineering services.

This new office space will enable Oticon to move its administrative offices and laboratory facilities to one central location. In recent years, Oticon’s continued growth in work force and operations of the U.S. Headquarters has required the company to occupy two locations in Somerset, New Jersey. The five-story office complex is less than one mile from its current headquarters building, and will be completely renovated to accommodate Oticon’s signature open work space office design and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.

Jarmel Kizel is providing Oticon with full architecture services including programming, space planning, interior design and architectural construction documents for the fit-up of this 163,000-square-foot corporate headquarters facility. In addition, Jarmel Kizel’s structural studio will design modifications to the building structure to accommodate new rooftop equipment and an elevator, and columns will be removed to provide a clear span space for the auditorium. Jarmel Kizel also will assist with coordinating security, telephone and data, audio/visual, furniture selection and moving services for Oticon.
