Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers Announces Completion of Northport Commons in New York

LIVINGSTON, N.J. (July 14, 2010)—Construction is complete at Northport Commons, a two-story 19,000-square-foot mixed-use center designed by Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc. The second level of the building is 10,000 square feet and is leased to The Learning Experience, a child development center for children three months to five years of age. The facility also includes 9,000 square feet of ground floor retail space, which is fully leased by retailers such as Subway, La Casa Pizza, Happy Farms Fruit, a yoga center, a coffee shop and a convenience store.

Geoff Schwartz, owner of Northport Commons, commented, “This project was a resounding success and we attribute the leasing up of all of the retail units to the tremendous design of the facility and the individual spaces, as well as the highly desirable location of the center. We are pleased to have such a unique and credible tenant mix at Northport Commons, and to offer these shopping, dining and lifestyle options to the community.”

Located in Northport at the intersections of Fort Salonga and Rinaldo Roads, Jarmel Kizel provided a gamut of architectural and engineering services for the design of the building’s core and shell, as well as the interior design.

Northport Commons sits on a unique corner land parcel where both levels of the building have at-grade entrances. The facility fills a community need for a much needed child care center and upscale retail.
