Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers Completes Upgrades at 85 Challenger Road in

Ridgefield Park, N.J.

LIVINGSTON, N.J. (April 22, 2010)—Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc., one of New Jersey’s most recognized architecture and engineering firms based in Livingston, New Jersey, has completed several design upgrades at 85 Challenger Road in Ridgefield Park, N.J. The firm provided architecture and engineering services for a new cafeteria, a fitness center and site improvements including landscaping and a parking deck refurbishment at the Class A office building.

When KABR Real Estate Investment Partners acquired the 235,000-square-foot Class A office building, they called upon Jarmel Kizel to provide tenant development services and to work in conjunction with their real estate broker, Cushman & Wakefield, on the marketing efforts of the building. Jarmel Kizel designed potential upgrades to the base building architecture and mechanical systems, with the intent of showing these plans to potential tenants. These efforts ultimately led to Samsung leasing 193,000 square feet of space at the building—making the transaction one of the most significant leases signed in New Jersey in 2009.

Jarmel Kizel also provided designs for the upgrades of the public spaces within the building, which needed modernizing. In addition, the firm provided engineering plans for modernizing the HVAC systems.
