Japan Tobacco International Moves into New U.S. Headquarters Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers Does Corporate Fit-out

LIVINGSTON, N.J. (JULY 6, 2009) -- Japan Tobacco International (JTI) recently moved into its new U.S. headquarters in Teaneck, N.J., which was designed by Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers. JTI is part of Tokyo-based Japan Tobacco Inc.

Corporate interiors are a specialty for Livingston, N. J.-based Jarmel Kizel, which is one of the state’s largest and most well-established architecture and engineering firms, and is known for providing one-stop shopping for architecture, engineering and interior design services.

JT International U.S.A. relocated to a 12,000-square-foot facility at Glenpointe Center West. Japan Tobacco is the world's third largest tobacco firm and markets the Camel, Salem and Winston brands outside the United States and the Mild Seven, Export ‘A’ and Wave brands within the United States.

Japan Tobacco also operates in the food, pharmaceutical, agribusiness, engineering and real estate industries.

Jarmel Kizel provided the design, furniture procurement and construction management services for the approximately $1 million corporate fit-out, working with the landlord and construction company, Alfred Sanzari Enterprises, to complete the project on an aggressive five-week schedule, said Tom Hofmann, associate principal at Jarmel Kizel.

The new facility features five executive offices, 15 offices and 32 workstations and accommodates approximately 50 employees. Also included are a conference room and a café-style pantry with a 55-inch flat-screen television.

The finishes are sophisticated and elegant, reflecting the company’s dynamic role in the tobacco industry, with a palette consisting of subtle tobacco-inspired earth tones with “pops” of bright color, added Hofmann.
