Jarmel Kizel Appointed To Design 19,000-Sf Mixed-Use Facility In Northport, NY

NORTHPORT, NY (OCTOBER 22, 2007) — Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers, Inc. has been appointed by 1014 Holding Company, LLC to design Northport Commons, a two-story 19,000-square-foot mixed-use facility located in Northport at the intersections of Fort Salonga and Rinaldo roads. For this assignment, Jarmel Kizel provided a gamut of architectural and engineering services related to the building’s core and shell design and interior fit up. Matthew B. Jarmel, AIA, MBA, principal, is serving as project principal for this assignment.

This facility will include 9,000 square feet of ground floor retail, and 10,000 square feet of child care on the upper level. The child care center will be occupied by The Learning Experience, a brand of child development centers, which was formed by Michael and Richard Weissman in 2002. Due to unique site conditions both levels of the building will have at grade entrances.

When completed, it will provide both tenants and visitors with a dynamic experience and provide much needed services to the community.”

Jarmel Kizel was appointed as architect of record for The Learning Experience in 2002. To date, Jarmel Kizel has completed designs for over 100 centers in twelve states on behalf of The Learning Experience. Jarmel Kizel’s prototype design for The Learning Experience, which provides childcare and education for children from six weeks of age through kindergarten, encompasses functional areas for teaching, free play, resting time, etc. The firm’s designs include construction and product design--special flooring, lighting and furniture for each room where children play, eat, learn and nap.
