Jarmel Kizel And D-6 Development Complete New Learning Experience In Berkely Township, New Jersey
BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (APRIL 30, 2007)— Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers, Inc., in conjunction with D6 Developments, LLC, a private real estate development company which specializes in multi-family, retail, mixed use and adaptive reuse projects, has announced the completion of a new Learning Experience location in the Bayville section of Berkeley Township, New Jersey. Jarmel Kizel serves as the designated architectural firm for the design concept and architectural rollout for The Learning Experience, a brand of child development centers, which was formed by Michael and Richard Weissman in 2002. To date, Jarmel has designed over 100 centers in six states on behalf of The Learning Experience.
This new location for The Learning Experience consists of 10,500 square feet and was designed to hold 180 children. Tom Hoffman, AIA, served as project architect for this assignment, while Adam Wright served as project manager.
D6 Developments is a preferred developer for The Learning Experience and is currently working on additional centers in Wall, Hamilton, and Plainsboro, NJ and Upper Providence, PA.
“We are pleased to have completed yet another assignment for the Learning Experience in New Jersey and also to partner with our long-term client, D6 Development,” commented Matthew B. Jarmel, AIA, MBA, principal of Jarmel Kizel. “This type of assignment demonstrates our firm’s expertise in not only architectural and engineering design, but in branding and the real estate development process as a whole whereby we provide development services such as due diligence, zoning evaluation, site selection and rollout management,” he added.
Jarmel Kizel’s prototype design for The Learning Experience, which provides childcare and education for children from six weeks of age through kindergarten, encompasses functional areas for teaching, free play, resting time, etc. The designs Jarmel created also encompass construction design and product design--special flooring, lighting and furniture for each room where children play, eat, learn and nap. In addition to creating The Learning Experience prototype design to reinforce its brand concept, Jarmel Kizel also assists in site planning, zoning entitlements and building approvals among various other services on behalf of The Learning Experience. Jarmel Kizel is a one-stop source for all of The Learning Experience’s design needs including brand architecture, base building design and civil, structural and mechanical/electrical engineering. For each center, they also work closely with the individual developers to educate them on issues that may arise due to size requirements, site planning/zoning, market demographics, etc.
In New Jersey alone, in addition to Berkley Township, Jarmel Kizel was responsible for creating designs for operating centers in Franklin Township (Somerset County), Lawrenceville, Hillsborough, Hopewell, Ledgewood, Livingston, Mansfield, Parsippany and Warren. In New Jersey, there are currently eight centers under construction in Blackwood, Cedar Grove, Cherry Hill, Edison, Howell, Jackson, Lyndhurst and Readington and another thirty in various stages of entitlements. Jarmel Kizel is also working on centers in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and North Carolina and will begin projects in Florida, Georgia, Virginia and Delaware later this year.
